What Stamps Can This Tool Remove?
GPS Map Camera and similar apps print the date, time, coordinates and address in a band along one edge of the photo — usually the bottom. This tool removes exactly that band, three ways: crop it off entirely, blur it so the stamp becomes unreadable, or let AI erase rebuild the band from the surrounding picture.
It does not erase watermarks sitting over the middle of the picture — a logo across the subject, or tiled stock-photo marks. Edge stamps, which is what GPS and date watermarks almost always are, can be removed cleanly: crop or blur them for free, or let the AI erase rebuild the band (sign-in and credits required).
The tool does not guess where your stamp is. Two sliders control the exact band, so the result is deterministic: nothing else in the photo is touched, and no surprise "AI cleanup" alters the rest of the image.

Crop or Blur — Which One?
Crop
The stamp is gone for good — not a trace of it left in the pixels. Costs part of the picture, so it works best when the stamp sits over sky, grass or another expendable edge.
Blur
Keeps the full frame; the stamp turns into an unreadable smudge. Best when you cannot afford to lose the edges — but the area itself is visibly edited, so it is not a "clean" removal.
Does This Remove the Hidden GPS Data Too?
No — and the difference matters. The printed stamp is part of the picture, but the GPS coordinates, date and camera details live in the EXIF metadata, which survives cropping and blurring (and AI erase) for JPEG photos. That hidden data is what photo apps and mapping services actually read.
If your goal is a photo with no location at all — neither visible nor hidden — remove the stamp here first, then strip the metadata: Remove GPS and EXIF metadata.
Privacy
Crop and Blur run entirely in your browser: the photo is never uploaded, and the file only leaves your device when you save the download to disk.
AI Erase is the one mode that sends data out: the photo and the selected band mask are processed by our AI service (an inpainting model) and the rebuilt image is returned to your browser. Sign-in is required and each erase costs credits. If you would rather keep the photo on your device, use Crop or Blur.
Watermark Removal FAQ
- Is this watermark remover free?
- Yes — free and unlimited. It runs in your browser, so there is no account, no upload and no per-photo cost.
- Will the photo lose quality?
- The remaining pixels keep their original resolution. The photo is re-encoded once at high quality, so a slight generational loss is possible — but the result is visually identical at normal viewing, and the stamp band is gone either way.
- Which watermarks can this tool not remove?
- Watermarks over the middle of the picture — a logo across a face, tiled stock-photo marks. This tool works on band stamps along an edge, which is the kind GPS Map Camera and date-stamp apps print. For those, crop and blur are free, and AI erase rebuilds the stamped pixels cleanly.
- Does removing the stamp also delete the GPS metadata?
- No. The visible stamp and the EXIF metadata are independent: coordinates survive a crop or blur. To strip the hidden data too, use the Remove EXIF tool afterwards.
- Is it okay to remove a watermark from any photo?
- Only remove stamps from photos you own or have permission to edit. Removing a rights-management watermark from someone else's image is a different matter entirely — this tool is for cleaning up your own shots.
- Does it work on photos from any phone or app?
- Yes. Anything with a stamp along an edge — GPS Map Camera, date-stamp cameras, screenshots — works the same, because you control the area yourself. There is nothing app-specific to install.
- What does AI Erase do differently from Crop and Blur?
- Crop removes the band and Blur covers it, but AI Erase rebuilds it: an inpainting model regenerates the stamped area from the surrounding picture, so sky, grass or road continue where the stamp used to be. It requires signing in and costs credits, and as a beta its quality depends on the background — check the result before downloading. Failed runs are refunded automatically.
